  The in-depth case study of a Denver, Colorado, emergency call I managed in August of 1998. The suspect/patient entered respiratory arrest after being forcefully-restrained by Officers in a prone (face-down) position for ONLY 2 to 3 minutes. Upon my arrival, the suspect/patient was in respiratory arrest (had stopped breathing) – before he was placed in “Hogtie” restraint. This study provides support for my hypothesis that the suspect/patient escaped death ONLY because I accidentally happened to arrive on scene before he entered full cardiac arrest (before his heart stopped)!
