IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME!

Medical Terminology
Abstract & Objectives

ABSTRACT: The goal of specialized vocabulary is to improve verbal and written communication, resulting in clearer information being transmitted in a shorter amount of space and time. Often considered a dull and uninteresting subject, Charly Miller's exciting presentation style brings new life to the understanding and use of Medical Terminology. Charly's enthusiasm and presentation style inspires participants to find enjoyment and pride in conquering medical terminology!

A one-hour, didactic only, presentation discusses the Greek and Latin origins of medical terminology; the responsibility for personal study and practice; and the need for medical dictionaries. Charly also explains common medical root words, prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms; terminology describing things and conditions; terminology describing body regions, cavities, areas, and landmarks; medical abbreviations and symbols.

The two-hour medical terminology workshop combines the didactic presentation with several medical terminology practice exercises.

Conference coordinators may want to consider Charly's
"Talk the Talk And Walk the Walk" Workshop
- combining "Write It Right" with "It's All Greek To Me" (a medical terminology presentation).
